To have a purple sofa is to make a home decor statement. The colour purple can either be a whimsical, or contemporary and modern. Purple doesn't necessarily go with just any colours, but it can certainly be versatile. There are several varieties of purple of course. If a lighter version of purple fabric is being used, than it would be prone to stains.
A darker and deeper purple sofa would be easier to maintain and would stand out in shades of gray, white, or black. On the other hand, if a whimsical look is what is to be, than a purple sofa could match other bold objects in a home. To achieve a modern and clean look, a purple sofa would stand out best in a white walled home with very little black here and there around the room where the sofa is.
A darker and more contemporary decor would include a black and gray room, which would compliment any colour of purple. Depending on the shade of purple and the fabric, keeping it clean and in shape varies. Finally, if a funky look is desired, colours that would flatter a purple sofa are bright and vivid. In a whimsical home it is not just the colours that matter, but the shapes as well. Pieces of pink and violet findings such as an over sized clock, or a strangely shaped lamp would accent a purple sofa pleasantly. No matter the aspiration, a purple sofa can be fun, inviting, and chic.
